Summer may be considered prime lake time, but we believe that fall at Lake Martin is completely underrated!

To celebrate the (official) first day of fall, today we are rounding up 5 reasons to visit Lake Martin this fall.

1. Beautiful foliage and leaf peeping.

In the fall, Lake Martin turns beautiful shades of crimson, orange and yellow. Soak in the in the vibrant views from a boat ride on the water or explore the land by foot while hiking the trails of Cherokee Ridge.

2. There’s fewer crowds and more solitude.

One of our favorite parts about visiting Lake Martin in the fall is the lack of visitors. We suggest sipping a cup of coffee and enjoying the gorgeous views each morning on your dock or deck. With the lack of water traffic, you may even feel as if you have the whole place to yourself.

3. The water is still (relatively) warm.

The water at Lake Martin maintains enough of the summer heat to keep its temperatures at ideal conditions all fall long!

4. Spectacular weather.

The fall weather in Alabama is absolutely perfect. The temperatures tend to be cooler in the morning and at night, then get a little bit warmer during the afternoon. It’s truly the perfect time to experience all that Lake Martin has to offer!

5. Fall festival and activities.

Every September and October many family friendly fall events and activities take place at Lake Martin. One of our favorites being the Fall Family Festival.
