On Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2, volunteers gathered at Lake Martin for the annual lake cleanup, known as ‘Renew Our Rivers.’ This cleanup is so important to Lake Martin and our LakeTown team would like to take a moment to thank everyone who donated their time to help keep our beautiful lake clean. Thank you to all of the wonderful volunteers!

About Renew Our Rivers: Created 20 years ago by an Alabama Power employee, the Renew Our Rivers program was awarded the Governor’s Water Conservationist of the Year Award in August. More than 117,000 volunteers across the Southeast have collected more than 115 million pounds of trash and debris from Alabama Power reservoirs since the first cleanup on the Coosa River in Gadsden in 2000.
