Biography:
Christopher Architecture & Interiors (CAI) is a full-service design firm that specializes in custom residential and boutique commercial design based in Birmingham AL. The team’s expertise in both architecture and interior design gives the firm a unique ability to collaborate internally on each project. Chris Reebals founded CAI in 2002 after attending Auburn University’s School of Architecture and working under a prestigious architecture firm in Montgomery, AL. Not long after, Reebals took a brief hiatus during which he worked in vocational ministry; with students and young adults, where he served as a regional minister to high-security prisons and designing for inner-city housing projects. Chris is a member of the National Council of Architecture Registration Board and serves on the board of directors for Alabama’s chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Over the years, the firm has expanded from one person to a team of twenty-three highly experienced and qualified professionals. Their offices can also be found in New York City and Los Angeles CA. Chris was a finalist in the 2018 ADAC Southeastern Architect of the Year. They have won a number of awards including: HGTV Faces of Design Finalist for Living Large in Small Spaces (2018), HGTV Faces of Design Finalist for Countryside Escape (2018), Birmingham AIA Design Awards for Residential Merit Award (2017), etc. As well as being mentioned in prestigious magazines such as Elle Décor and Forbes.
Creative Approach to Design:
Their approach to any and all of their projects begin with one simple thing: collaboration. They believe that collaboration is at the heart of everything that they do. The first step is to ensure that everyone on the architecture team, interior design team and the client(s) are on the same page; followed by studying the site where the property is going to be built. The personality of the client and the gradation of the site are the two most important factors when it comes to residential architecture for CAI.
